New fun project started
In the days of silent film, the nickelodeons were the movie theatres where they showed a wide veriety of short films each day. For the entrance fee of one nickel, you could watch 10 or more films released that week.

Each nickelodean had a pianist, or sometimes an organ player playing along with the films.

My first photoplay song is a full symphony orchestra orchestration of the Triumphal March from volume 2 of Sam Fox's moving picture music publications.

Photoplay
The pianist in the nickelodean often played his or her music from a "cue sheet", i.e. a list of suggested songs to play for each scene. Later on, Sam Fox published a number of books with royalty free songs, composed by amongst others, Zamechik. There was a song for every mood or situation.

In this project, I will take some of these songs and do full orchestrations and variations from the original piano music.
